Since 1973, Anka Behavioral Health, Inc. (“Anka”) has been providing an array of support services to clients of all ages who have serious and persistent mental illness. In 2011, Anka was awarded a $1.75 million Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) award from the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA), which is being used to purchase and renovate up to six single family homes in Contra Costa County. The homes will be used as individual shared housing projects for adults with serious mental health issues that are homeless, or at-risk of being homeless. In participation with the Golden State Acquisition Fund, NCCLF has provided Anka with two acquisition loans totaling $706,920 to bridge financing while awaiting MHSA award disbursements from CalHFA.
