Our Board

NCCLF’s Board of Directors, staff, and several volunteer committees spearhead our efforts to spur economic revitalization and alleviate poverty in Northern California. We have a diverse, active board of 9 people representing both our borrower and investor constituencies and a range of professional expertise in banking, housing, economic development, venture capital, business planning, accounting, and fundraising.

ANN CAMERON (BOARD CHAIR) is Senior Vice President and Managing Director at Northern Trust. She is a Trustee and former chair of the San Francisco Botanical Garden, a former board member and President of the Marin Community Clinic, Corte Madera and a past President of the Board of Directors of La Clinica de la Raza, Oakland. *

REGINA DAVIS is Executive Director of the San Francisco Housing Development Corporation, which fosters stability in the city’s African American community through the development of affordable homes and new home owners. She has previously worked with Michael Willis Associates Architects, UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

JEAN DRISCOLL is a consultant specializing in finance.  Over the last decade, Ms. Driscoll helped establish and operate conservation lending programs for the Packard Foundation, the Open Space Institute and the Resources Legacy Fund.  She is currently managing the Wildlife Endowment Fund, an investment fund for habitat migration endowment funds for projects across California.

MARGARET (PEG) STONE (BOARD SECRETARY) is a retired affordable-housing finance specialist.  Most recently she worked for CSG Advisers, a national real-estate financial advisory firm.  She has more than 25 years of experience in affordable housing and economic development.  Peg’s specialties include public housing refinance, nonprofit capital projects, tax credits, bond finance, and strategic planning.  Prior to working with CSG, Peg served as the executive director of Merritt Capital, a nonprofit tax-credit syndication fund.

LYDIA TAN (TREASURER)

KIRKE WILSON (VICE CHAIR), retired in 2005 as President of the Rosenberg Foundation where he had been since 1974.  Kirke currently serves on the board of directors for the California Budget Project and Rural Community Assistance Corporation, where he served as Chair from 2006-2008.  He was previously a member of the Loan Committee of the Non-Profit Development Loan Fund, and has served on the boards of the Foundation Center, Independent Sector and Northern California Grantmakers.  *

ANN M. HATCH is a native San Franciscan.  Ann has been an active community volunteer of the San Francisco Bay Area since the mid 1990′s.  A majority of Ann’s service has been in the Arts sector serving as a Trustee and Board member at the California College of Arts and Crafts and the Oakland Museum, respectively.  In addition to these  experiences she has been a board member of Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center and President and Founder of the Tin Man Fund. Ann holds a BFA from Tufts University and the School for Boston Museum of Fine Arts, as well as an honorary doctorate from the San Francisco Arts institute.

ELIZABETH BOARDMAN was raised in a small Massachusetts town, and received a BA from Harvard University.  She crossed the country and settled in California to raise four children, which have subsequently been enriched with mixed race members.  During the past 35 years she has provided leadership in developing and managing eight substantial projects to provide housing and/or health and social services for mostly low-income elderly.  Elizabeth is a leader in the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and a fervent peace activist.  She has traveled widely and lived in Pakistan and India.  She spends much of her time writing, and has published three books.

PATRICIA GOPAUL received a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. For several years she served on the New York City Economic Development Corporation as a Policy Analyst, and, ultimately, as Senior Council. She has provided pro bono in-house services to NCCLF. Most recently she worked for Dechert LLP in San Francisco.* (On leave of absence)

ILANA R. SCHATZ has over twenty-five years experience in community program development.  She has a strong background and knowledge of the Socially Responsible Investment field, and has served NCCLF as a member of the Resource Development Committee for over 5 years.  Ilana has her Master’s in Public Health Education/Nutrition from UC Berkeley. Ilana is also very active with women’s issues and fair trade alliances and is a workshop presenter on “Jewish Perspectives on Social Justice”.

ANDY MADEIRA has an extensive background in affordable housing development, project financing and underwriting.  He’s currently a Senior Banker for JP Morgan Chase Community Development Banking. He’s also served as Vice President, Real Estate Development for Citizens Housing Corporation, Director of Real Estate Development at BRIDGE Housing Corporation, and Community Development Manager and Underwriter at Fannie Mae’s American Communities Fund.  Prior to his work in affordable housing, Andy practiced law at nonprofit organizations in California and Philadelphia.  Andy received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. in Economics with Honors from the University of California at Santa Cruz.

MOY ENG Known as one of the U.S.’ most influential leaders in the arts, Moy Eng is known for developing bold, pragmatic solutions to critical problems in arts and culture.  Moy served from 2001 to 2009 as Director of the Performing Arts program at The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, one of the largest foundation funders for the arts.  Prior to her 2001 appointment at the Hewlett Foundation, Moy amassed over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, working in the arts and culture, immigrant rights international human rights, lesbian and gay rights and renewable energy fields.

Moy received her undergraduate degree in Theater Arts from Rutgers University, and her Master of Arts in Arts Administration from New York University.  In her spare time, Moy is a classically trained singer and will be releasing a CD this year.
