The Northern California Community Loan Fund (NCCLF) was founded in 1987 to create a socially responsible investment vehicle to provide capital and expertise to revitalize low-income communities. NCCLF has grown into a $35 million intermediary nonprofit organization that provides loans, consulting, and technical assistance to groups that develop low-income housing, community facilities, essential health and human services, nonprofit enterprises, and solutions to the critical issues facing the nonprofit sector.


Position Summary

The ORGspaces Coordinator’s primary program responsibility is to maintain and develop all aspects of the NCCLF ORGspaces.org program, including marketing and sales of the sponsorships that pay for the program. This website is a program of NCCLF that provides nonprofit organizations based in Northern California with information and resources to assist them with their facility needs. ORGspaces provides information about leasing space, how to conduct a lease vs. buy analysis, financing strategies for property purchase and/or development, and technical assistance resources. The ORGspaces Coordinator also works with our consultants to coordinate all technical aspects of updating and maintaining the website.

Primary Activities

Under the supervision of the Director of Consulting, the Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation and updating of the annual business plan, which includes activities in the following areas:

A. Operational Goals Include:

  • Manage the website activity and helping to maintain the website with current up to date information about leasing facilities available;
  • Work with third party consultants to add appropriate links to related websites;
  • Develop relationships with the agencies that are seeking space, and organizations offering space, to make sure we are providing individualized assistance that is appropriate to clients’ needs.
  • Assess the consulting required by organizations seeking space or providing space and facilitate matches between listed organizations.
  • Write, edit and coordinate the mailing of ORGspaces.org information e-mail blasts.
  • Work with NCCLF staff and IT consultants to align the content of ORGspaces with sponsoring and collaborating websites.

B. Responsible for leading and implementing the Promotions and Marketing Plan established for ORGspaces.org along with the Development Staff responsible for this function. The ORGspaces Coordinator works with the CGP Program Associate to facilitate sending out mailings, e-mail and other communications related to ORGspaces.

C. The ORGspaces Coordinator works with the Development Department to determine a strategy and timeline for sponsorships and partnerships. The ORGspaces Coordinator is the lead person for making one–on-one contacts with potential sponsors, donors and partners who support ORGspaces.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position is conscientious, well-organized, detail-oriented, and excited about working in an expanding nonprofit and a friendly, informal, yet fast-paced environment. Minimum qualifications include:

  • Experience in real estate development and/or commercial brokerage
  • Marketing and sales experience
  • Initiative, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Expertise with word processing, database, spreadsheet, and web content-management software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity and experience with interactive web-site development tools
  • Commitment to strengthening low-income communities and making our region a more equitable place
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to conduct site visits with clients and potential sponsors and partners
  • Valid California Drivers License for required driving

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of the real estate market in the Bay Area and a familiarity with nonprofit organizations
  • Commercial Broker’s license and experience with commercial brokerage for nonprofit organizations
  • Experience with nonprofit facility development and/or management practices
  • Fund raising experience
  • Great sense of humor

Compensation and benefits

Starting salary is commensurate with experience, starting at 20% of full-time equivalent salary of $65-$75,000 per year (approximately $13-$15,000 per year) with potential to increase to half-time if sponsorships support the position.  Pro-rated vacation and sick leave included.  Not eligible for benefits.
